Sustainability. It’s more than a word. At Aga Jones Flowers we grow and design for zero waste.

The flowers and foliage in your bouquet are grown on our property in Riddells Creek.

They are lovingly raised from open pollinated seed and nurtured with a selection of annuals, perennials, biennials and native plants. Our flowers are grown in a chemical-free, organic manner to maintain the health of our planet and its interconnected biodiversity.

Flowers for larger orders are seasonally sourced from local suppliers with sustainability principles akin to our own. The majority of these flowers are grown organically or chemical-free, predominantly within the Macedon Ranges.

We pride ourselves as a floral business which supports small, local growers, who farm with the environment front of mind.

We always reuse, repurpose and recycle.

All of our green waste is composted onsite post an event. Our vases and vessels are quite often purchased from second hand dealers and are reused again and again.

We strongly oppose the use of floral foam in our designs.

Floral foam is a phenol formaldehyde resin introduced in the 1950’s and used widely across the floral industry for its unique ability to hold water, provide support in floral arrangements, and prolong the life of flowers. However, floral foam is a scourge on our environment, being a known carcinogen, non-degradable and a major source of pollution across our land and waterways.

The natural world is our passion and our floral design aims to honour and preserve this environment.

And lastly, when the delivery is local, we do it by bicycle!

We aren’t perfect and we are always looking for more efficient ways to grow and better ways to design. We value education and invest in our business regularly via workshops and seminars.
